Welcome back to my blog where I discuss any topic related to South Korea. While waiting for the opportunity to visit the country, I have compiled a list of my favorite Korean coffee shops in Montreal, Canada for a taste of South Korea closer to home.
1- Dessert Cafe MOMO
📍Address: 5525 Monkland Ave, Montreal, Quebec H4A 1C8
Named after the owner’s dog Momo, this Korean coffee shop in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (NDG) neighborhood offers various Korean specialty desserts and drinks. I especially love to come here during the warmer months to enjoy their delicious bingsoo (Korean shaved ice). They also sell delicious character-themed macarons, and you can also pre-order cakes for special occasions.
2 – Le Café Bomnal (봄날)
📍Address: 6543a Somerled Ave, Montreal, Quebec H4V 1S7
Le Café Bomnal (봄날 means ‘Spring Day’) is another hidden gem in the NDG area with a very minimal and aesthetic decor. This coffee shop offers a variety of Korean specialty drinks. The Honeycomb Toffee coffee was amazing and the ades (fruit flavored beverages) are very refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day. If you are hungry, they also serve light food/snacks like tteokbboki and a few rice dishes.
3- Nous Sommes Café
📍Address: 180 Rue Prince-Arthur E, Montréal, QC H2X 1B7
Located on Prince-Arthur E Street in Montreal’s Le Plateau neighborhood, this Korean coffee shop has a unique selection of Korean specialty drinks. The café is quite small so there is limited indoor seating, but in the summer, they have outdoor tables where customers can sit and enjoy their drinks. I would recommend the Einspanner (Viennese coffee with whipped cream) for coffee drinkers or the matcha strawberry latte for my matcha lovers out there. If you’re looking for something sweet to go along with your drinks, I would also suggest trying their tiramisus!
That concludes my list of Korean cafes to visit in Montreal. Please let me know if you have a chance to visit any of these places!
Until next time,
Tash
